Blog #002 WHAT TO DO ON 7 HOURS LAYOVER (HONGKONG)
It’s vacation time again!! going to our home country Philippines (Pilipinas kong Mahal), Me & my sister decided to booked our flight thru Cathay Pacific Airlines from Dubai- Manila, before our flight I’ve been reading & watching lots of blogs for our trip which helps a lot for our itinerary so we can maximize our stay. There is no visa requirements for Filipino going to Hongkong for vacation. Filipino Tourist in Hongkong only need a valid passport to enter and will not be required to go through a visa application process.
Dubai- Hongkong 10:55pm-10:35am Flight duration 7h 40m
Our flight to Hongkong arrive at 10:35am and flight back to Manila 05:40pm so we have 6- hours for our tour excluding time we spend at immigration. About 30 minutes at the airport we already have an onward boarding pass to our next destination and immigration procedures were very fast and efficient.
It’s gala time!!!!! From Airport -we took a MTR Airport Express Train going to Hongkong Station for 1 day trip same day return Airport- Hongkong, would cost (100 HKD).
Train departs every 10 mins -Airport to Hongkong Station takes only 24 mins
Hongkong Central Pier going to Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade
We arrived at Hongkong Station around 11:30 am and we just walked around to the connecting IFC MALL to find the nearest exit going to Hong kong Central Pier.
Were now on board!!!! Here what’s inside the star ferry.
Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade
We already arrived at Tsim Sha Tsui pier, and just follow the sign to Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. We saw the famous Mobile Softee while walking near the promenade, craving for ice cream a must try just for only (10HKD)yum! yum !yum!
Hong Kong Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is a landmark in Hong Kong. It is located on the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It is the only remnant of the original site of the former Kowloon Station on the Kowloon-Canton Railway.
More pictures At The Promenade
We keep looking for Avenue of Stars, sad to say its closed for renovation and will open early of 2019, so we just take more..more pictures on the scenery surrounding the area.
we will come back..Avenue of Stars!!!! see you in 2019.
After an hour, we decided to go Mong Kok for a Foodtrip, so walked towards Tsim Sha Tsui Station and rode the MTR to Mong Kok using the Tsuen Wan Line.
Once you arrive in Mong Kok it feels like your in Divisoria & Binondo in the Philippines , because there’s lots of shops, souvenirs, street foods, clothes, bags and etc. If your a tourist don’t forget to haggle for cheap price. I bought a t-shirt for 50HKD for 3 pieces. The Sneaker’s Market is also nearby they said you can buy a shoes on a cheap price, but for me its expensive here. Its must cheaper in DUBAI!!!!
Mong kok Streetfoods be like!!!
Hit The Streets..Eat like locals… This my favorite part when traveling!!!! STREET FOODS..
GOING TO THE PEAK TRAM
From Mong kok, we took the MTR Tsuen Wan Line to Central Station and take J2 exit, you need to walk for 10-15 mins going to peak.

AT THE PEAK…
We want to explore more but our time is limited, we need to catch our flight going to Manila. From peak tram, we took a bus going to Central Station, from Central Station-Hong kong Station – Airport Express. We got back to Airport on time.
It was short but fun!!!!! A day of fun field adventure with my sister. Going to different place for the first time make my heart flutters. I must say Hong kong is a nice place to visit. Will come back here soon…
